The New Camp Nou

The Camp Nou Barcelona is probably one of the most known stadiums in the world and definitely is a must visit for all football lovers during their Barcelona holidays. Its therefor not strange that the Nou Camp tour is one of the most requested tours.

My Bar?a

When I first came to Barcelona Spain in 2007 I still didnt choose my favourite team within Spain, but it was quiet easy to choose one as FC Barcelona started playing amazingly good. They won their 2nd Champions league cup in 2006 with Players like Ronaldio, Etoo and already a young Leo Messi. From this year on, the game of FC Barcelona has been getting better continuously by the hand of great trainers like Frank Rijkard, Josep Guardiola and is now with Luis Enrique still improving the game. The Bara game once invented by my biggest idol Johan Cruijff, may he rest in peace. I still remember the first Bara Match I attended against Zaragoza 2-2 (with a penalty equalizer in the last minute by Ronaldio). The Camp Nou made an enormous impression on me! This stadium is huge and really intense! Many matches followed, from league maches to Champions League games and from easy wins to hard fought Clasicos. if Im not going to the game, I will see the match in a bar or I will see it at home. There is no way Ill miss it!

Tours & tickets

Its the passion I feel for the Bar?a game that I always try to express to my clients during a Camp Nou tour. A feeling that is hard to get when you visit the stadium by yourself. Besides giving guided tours in the stadium I can also arrange match tickets. When I do so I of course join in on the fun by attending the game myself assisting the client to the seats and explain them about all they need to know before and during the game.

Extensions

Over time the Stadion Camp Nou of FC Barcelona has been adapting to the success of the team, in this way the stadium underwent several extensions and turned out to be one of the biggest football stadiums in the world. This same enormous stadium is getting even bigger in the next couple of years. Starting in the summer of 2018 FC Barcelona will give the Camp Nou an upgrade on all aspects of the stadium. The renovation will take place in the summer of 2018 until May 2022.

The proposal of the chosen architects of The Nikken Sekkei & Pascual i Ausi Arquitectes stands out for being open, elegant, serene, timeless Mediterranean and democratic.

It is also notable for its relationship with the environment, providing depth, creating shadows and making members the stars of the facade and of the open area at all times.

El Nou Camp Nou

The virtues of the stadium built in 1953 have been crucial to the decision to remodel and expand the Camp Nou instead of building a new stadium. In 1953, the architect Francesc Mitjans designed Camp Nou with an elegant curvature of the stands that provides excellent visibility of the pitch and a marquee over the Tribune Stand that has become an emblem of the stadium.

These virtues have been crucial to the decision to remodel and expand the Camp Nou instead of building a new stadium.

What will change?

  • Recover excellence with a stadium for approximately 105,000 spectators with modern comforts and services
  • Open faade consisting of three open concourses protected by pitched eaves
  • The New Camp Nou is seamlessly integrated in the Espai Bara Campus
  • Maintains a level access to the street all around the stadium
  • 12 vertical circulation cores with stairs, escalators and lifts, with access to the second and third tiers
  • A spacious sky deck over-looking the seating bowl and the City
  • An integrated and open space for the city
  • A sustainable stadium, smart and green, harvesting water and energy from the sun

SUSTAINABILITY
Espai Bar?a will be constructed with a transversal, global sustainability strategy for all of the Clubs facilities. In this way the club keeps in the same line like the city who has been participating over the last years in the Smart city project. A project in which cities look towards the future and adapt their city with The goal of building a city to improve quality of life by using technology and to improve the efficiency of services and meet residents needs. In the video below it shows very good how the new Espai Bara does so:

See you soon
I am looking forward to this amazing changes, but of course I also look forward to show you around in the stadium until then. Or maybe I can join/guide you in one of the next Bar?a matches.
